Geodis implements its new TMS and reinforces the efficiency of its distribution

The work between Geodis and Alerce appears in the specialized press of the sector.

The Distribution & Express business line of GEODIS, leader in parcel transport in France, has just completed the implementation of a new transport management and optimisation software (Transport Managing System - TMS) in the 110 agencies that compound its network. Called "TEOS", it is implemented on the basis of Alertran, software from the Alerce Company, which is specialised in the transport and logistics sector.

This new operational tool guarantees the accurate and real-time tracking of all parcel delivery flows carried out by GEODIS in France. In fact, more than 370,000 packages pass through GEODIS platforms every day and are delivered to their final destination.

The new TMS, thanks to its usability inspired by the best practices of the web and its simplicity of use, simplifies the work of the operational teams that, day by day, ensure the smooth running of transport plans and the monitoring of deliveries.

"This TMS is a centralized tool, of last generation, scalable, flexible and customized to support the growth of our customers. This is a valuable asset for the future because it allows us to offer them more and more proactivity in the management of the shipments they entrust to us", says Olivier Mélot, General Manager of GEODIS Distribution & Express business line.

This deployment, carried out in collaboration with Alerce, took several months. Alerce relied on its Alertran production and billing operations management software, as well as on its Senda module for route optimization.

More than a hundred people participated in the different phases of the project: tool design, data collection, implementation and user training.

Pablo Pardo García, General Manager of the Alerce Group says: "We are proud to have participated in a strategic project for both companies and to continue accompanying GEODIS. The implementation of this tool is a real success that gives us confidence and strength in our development in Europe through our subsidiary Alerce France".
